Client Spotlight: Alicia Maddox

1.) What are your current goals and why?

My current goal are to continue getting stronger in the gym while feeling my absolute best! As a mom of 3, I want to be able to keep up with my kids for as long as possible. I think it's also important for me to show them at a young age that what you do and what you put in your body can have good or bad effects The best part is, all of my kids love the gym and love to do workouts with me. I even got my husband to go to the gym more often.

2.) What keeps you motivated?

What keeps me motivated is my health and my family. If I'm not feeling my best, I can't be the best for anyone else. The gym is also my favorite place. It's not a chore for me to get up and go every day. And since Nutrition goes hand in hand with whatever I do in the gym, dialing everything in is not work, it's fun for me.

3.) Why is it important to you to live a healthy lifestyle?

A healthy lifestyle is a must! Since being diagnosed with Hashimotos, everything has changed. What it did to my body both mentally and physically, and trying to figure out what I could and couldn't eat really was exhausting. Thanks to Alexa, and the All-Tru team, I did a complete 180. I Stopped CrossFit, went straight to weight lifting, and started the anti-inflammatory process. I've never felt better. This is the path I need and want to be on.

4.)What is your most memorable experience in this program?

My most memorable experience with All-Tru would be all the celebrations of wins I have had and how damn good it feels to be with a group of people that love the same things.

Watching what I eat translate to how I do in the gym is a tool that I will always have and that's exciting. I can only get better from here.

5.)What are you most proud of since starting this program?

My recent accomplishments would be getting my bench press back up to 135 after surgery.

Completely changing my workout routine was super scary. Going from 5x a week doing CrossFit to a regular gym was not easy for me. But it's worked wonders. Pairing a lower-intensity workout with a sustainable nutrition plan, I'm in the best shape of my life! I can see my muscles growing and all of my lifts continue to increase every single week. My inflammation is down and it's noticeable. I'm 41 and feel like I'm in my 20s again!
