1.) What are your goals and why?

I have overall goals in life and sport specific goals. In life, my goal is to be healthy, happy and confident. I want to be healthy enough to regulate my PCOS and one day have kids and show them that being healthy doesn’t always equal skinny. That being strong is cool and to show them you can be healthy and confident at any size. In weightlifting specific, I want to be the strongest I can be while also feeling good. Ultimately, I would LOVE to qualify for a small international meet. As of right now I would have to at least have a 243kg total. Currently, my highest total is 233kgs, so only 10 more kilos to go! I also can’t wait to officially hit a 100kgs snatch! I have hit in training, as a training make, where I stood is up but dropped it behind me. I am so ready to work hard to achieve these goals!

2.) What keeps you motivated?

Oh, this is hard because sometimes I am not motivated, so I have to rely on my dedication. I would say my biggest motivation is my future, for several reasons. I have PCOS and want a family someday and sometimes PCOS can make that hard. But getting out there, making healthier choices, moving my body, getting good sleep, reducing stress, etc. all aide in being my healthiest self that I can be to try and regulate my PCOS symptoms and put my body in a great place to have kids when the time is right. And from then on to be a great mother. It motivates me to think about raising children who have a strong mother. A mother that will be able to keep up with them, who can have fun with them, and show them that being strong is a good thing.

3.) Why is it important to you to live a healthy lifestyle?

It’s important to me to have a healthy lifestyle because I want to live a long life. I have worked and been around many different types of elderly people and it is so shocking the difference in health in people who are the same age. It really opened my eyes seeing a couple the same age as my parents and while my parents are bigger, they were 10x more active and better health than the other couple. The other couple did not do any type of exercise, drank pop and energy drinks, ate poorly, and barely slept and were in very bad health. And that’s when I realized that even if you are bigger that doesn’t mean you are unhealthy. I love that I can still do things with my parents and I know they will be very active grandparents when the time comes. And that is why it’s so important to me to live a healthy life so that I can be in good health my entire life.

4.)What is your most memorable experience in this program?

My most memorable experiences in this program are far beyond the scale. My coach, Alexa, has helped me transform my entire life not just my foods. I have tried many other nutrition companies before, and this is the first one I feel like I get more than just a set of macros. Alexa has taught me that health is more than just what I put in my body, while that is a big part of it, it’s not the only thing. She has been so great in being there for me when I had to leave my ex-fiancé and given me tough love when on a cut. I am super grateful for all her advice and counsel over these past months.

5.) BRIGHT SPOTS. Hype up your accomplishments, what are you most proud of so far since starting the program?

Since starting this program I have really chosen me. I have finally taken the steps I needed to become the healthiest version of myself inside and out. I really do believe this program really showed me how much stress and other factors of your life can impact your health. Leaving my fiancé was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make but it was the best decision I have ever made. I didn’t realize how much stress I really was holding onto staying with someone that wasn’t right for me. So that is something I am hugely proud of, realizing what I deserve. I am also super proud of me eating veggies haha. I barely ever ate veggies before and now I eat them daily! I also am super proud of my strength, even though I am currently taking ab break from weightlifting due to having surgery, before I was at the top of my game. PR snatch right before I got surgery and back squat PR’s earlier in the year. Since starting with Alexa I feel so strong and am so thankful for the All-Tru family!
