1. What are your current goals and why?

My current goals are to be a well rounded, strong, and happy person. Since starting this journey, I’ve learned it’s not all about the physical strength, and if you focus on one and not the others, you will suffer. I’m here for a good time AND a long time!

2. What keeps you motivated?

I’ve struggled a lot with this…and what I’ve found out is that motivation fades. You just have to figure out what your priorities and non-negotiables are, and do the damned thing!! For me, it’s been 5-minutes of stretching first thing when I wake up and before bed. It’s just such a simple thing that has provided such consistency and happiness. It just feels so good to give the body a little love first and last thing in the day.

3. Why is it important to you to live a healthy lifestyle?

I’ve always wanted to practice what I preach, in all aspects of life. I don’t have kids yet, but once I become a mom, I want to show them that you have to put in the work and the effort to take care of YOURSELF, so that you can thrive and take care of those you love. And that includes caring for mind, body, and soul.

4. What is your most memorable experience in this program?

My most memorable experience… it’s tough to pick just one, so I’ll do my top 2! I really enjoy the Zoom calls. I appreciate that they’re recorded for future viewing, but they are such a pleasure to be a part of. I look forward to my schedule allowing for more consistent attendance. I also appreciate all the new moves I’ve done through my programs. I’ve had no real gym or group fitness experience before this, and I’ve appreciated moves like a front squat and an overhead squat. It’s something I never thought I’d be strong enough to perform, or even brave enough!

5. BRIGHT SPOTS. Hype up your accomplishments, what are you most proud of so far since starting the program?

What I’m most proud of so far is truly how I’ve learned to love myself completely. I’ve accepted myself not only for my strengths, but my faults. And I acknowledge that there will be different stages in my life. I won’t always be the strongest, but that doesn’t mean I will be any less healthy, or happy. And I owe such a huge portion of this better mindset to my kickass coach, Alexa. She has put up with so much of my bullshit. Lol. She’s been gentle when I’ve needed it and provided that tough love when I needed it more!
